Overview
Built around 179 years ago, the Kwan Tee Pagoda is the oldest Pagoda in the Southern Hemisphere and in the African continent. It has also been recently listed as a National Heritage by the National Heritage Fund of Mauritius. Located at Les Salines, the Pagoda faces the sea and is set against the mountains. The construction and location of the Pagoda itself abides by the principles of spirituality. The Kwan Tee Pagoda is definitely a haven of peace and tranquility despite being located in Port Louis.
